Here’s a clip that dates back to before the last two recessions. Yes, the world has changed a lot (and I have changed a lot) since the heady days of 2007. But the core of my message here still rings true, and anyone who is either in college or thinking about it should take it to heart, in my humble opinion.

I had no way of knowing it at the time, but my advice in this video, about students taking risks and forming networks during their tuition, really applied to what was just around the corner. Many people chose to re-educate themselves during the Great Recession. And what the successful ones found out was that with education came partnerships and new ventures. I’ve no doubt that many of the people who heard me speak on this day are now helping us get through the current economic difficulties!
